Health disparities in Boston are heavily concentrated in discrete geographical areas and are not contiguous. These “pockets” are associated with increased rates of chronic disease, sexually transmitted infections (STIs including Chlamydia and Gonorrhea), and environmental exposures.

When stratifying incidence of STIs by neighborhood as well as minority status, this project highlighted the need for further study on health determinants and disparities among the urban poor and minorities.
